Why a one-shape mat falls short on a new Chinese model

A universal mat is cut in one standard shape meant for most cars, so it cannot follow the floor of your specific model. The pedal area, seat rails and floor contours differ from car to car, and a new Chinese model is no exception. A moulded tray or a pre-cut set needs an exact pattern of that floor before it can fit properly.

Chinese models are already on the UAE best-seller list. UAE new-car sales reached 335,772 units in 2025, and the Jetour T2 was among the top models next to the Toyota Hilux, Nissan Patrol and Toyota Land Cruiser, according to Best Selling Cars Blog. Universal mats on Amazon.ae typically cost AED 40–100, and they come in that one shape.

Custom cutting closes that gap. The mat is made from a pattern of your own car's floor, taken on the spot, so how new or rare the model is stops mattering. New or rare models, including new Chinese brands, are templated on the first visit at no extra cost.

How we template a new model on the first visit

If your model is new or rare, we take the pattern at your car on the first visit, at no extra cost. It takes about 15 minutes at your home, office or car park. If you have your old mats, we can use them as the template instead.

The pattern goes to our own workshop in Sharjah. There the set is cut on our cutting machine from our own rolls, and the leather edging is sewn by us. Nothing is resold. Stocked colours are ready within 1–2 days and made-to-order colours take 2–4 days, then we bring the set and fit it at the car in about 10 minutes.

Jetour, BYD, Denza, Zeekr, Geely, Chery, Haval, Changan: one method for all

Every Chinese brand is handled the same way: we measure the actual car, so the fit does not depend on whether a ready-made pattern exists. That applies to the Jetour T2 and other Jetour models, BYD and Denza, Zeekr, Geely, Chery, Haval and Changan, including models that reached the UAE only recently.

Seat layout changes the price, not the method. For a car with a third row (6–8 seats), add about 35% to the set price. If you only need the front, a front-only set costs about 25% less. A trunk mat adds AED 80 in EVA, AED 150 in Polyamide 12mm or AED 300 in Sky Star 20mm or Premium Wool, in any colour, even one that differs from the cabin set.

Some shoppers expect tall-wall 5D or 7D trays, quilted diamond eco-leather mats or rubber mats for these cars. We do not sell any of those. What we make are custom-cut mats in EVA, pile, polyamide and wool, each finished with stitched leather edging.

Materials and prices for Chinese cars

A custom full set for a Chinese car costs AED 250 in EVA, AED 450 in Polyamide 12mm and AED 900 in Sky Star 20mm and AED 1400 in Premium Wool. EVA at AED 250 is the practical start: four mats, two front and two rear split, in honeycomb or diamond-cell EVA that you rinse with a hose. Colours are black, beige, blue and orange. Polyamide 12mm at AED 450 is dense 12 mm polyamide pile with a reinforced heel pad under the driver.

At AED 900, Sky Star 20mm is a deep, dense polyamide weave with the look of wool and the wear of polyamide, with a sparkle surface in blue and red. Premium Wool, at AED 1400, has a 20 mm+ natural wool pile, the softest choice for luxury cabins.

Which material suits UAE driving

For sand, beach and camping trips, EVA is the practical choice because you rinse it clean with a hose. The desert camping season runs from October to April, according to Khaleej Times, and those are the months when a floor you can hose down is most useful.

Premium Wool is the softest option and suits luxury cabins, but it is never hosed: vacuum it weekly and blot spills with mild soap. Pile and polyamide are shaken out and vacuumed, with a damp cloth for spills. Many owners choose an EVA trunk mat even with a wool set, for AED 80 extra, so sandy gear and wet bags land on a surface you can rinse.

Finish is chosen separately from material. Leather edging comes in 9 stock colours at the same price, with more on request. Embroidery of an emblem, initials, the model name or a logo, quilted or diamond-stitched heel pads and contrast stitching are priced by design on WhatsApp.

Measuring and fitting at your home, office or car park are included in Dubai (details in our guide to car mats in Dubai); Sharjah and the other Emirates are by agreement. We work from 9:00 to 21:00, seven days a week. Our workshop in Sharjah (Plus Code 8JJ6+VF3) is a production space, not a showroom, so the measuring comes to you.
